Nelson Tasman Hospice has supported the Whakatu and Te Tai o Aorere communities for over 30 years, delivering compassionate palliative care to people with life-limiting illness and their whanau. Guided by our vision, “To Care Always,” our nurses play a vital role in ensuring exceptional care and support.
We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our team in a casual role, offering you the flexibility to work around your lifestyle! Whilst this is a casual role, and you must have the availability to work both day and evening shifts seven days per week.
Working within the Nelson Tasman Hospice’s Specialised Palliative Care Unit (SPCU) you’ll have the opportunity to use your skills to make a tangible difference to patient’s lives and that of their whanau.
Ko wai he kaitono totika? - Who is an appropriate applicant?- Previous and current experience in palliative care with a caregiver’s certification or similar in the healthcare industry.
- Has an understanding of te ao Maori and is respectful and responsive to the cultural needs of all those who come in contact with our service.
- Has an understanding of health inequities and is responsive to populations experiencing poorer health outcomes.
- A flexible, positive approach.
- You must be based in the Nelson area to apply for this role and hold a valid NZ work visa.
- Full support, whilst gaining essential knowledge and skills in specialist palliative care within a challenging and rewarding environment.
- Paid external professional supervision.
