This key role is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering complex, large-scale security integration and engineering projects. Drawing on deep technical expertise and hands-on experience, you’ll guide clients through the full project lifecycle—ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned to business needs.

Beyond delivery, you’ll support pre-sales and solution validation, ensuring proposed architectures are practical and executable. As a subject matter expert, you’ll also play a vital role in mentoring team members and shaping capability within the practice.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and delivery of advanced cyber security solutions across cloud, network, and endpoint environments.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to enterprise clients—helping define, evolve, and prioritise their security strategies and roadmaps.
  • Design and deliver solutions across SIEM, EDR/XDR, identity and access management, firewalls, and secure connectivity.
  • Work with a wide technology stack including Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Defender for Endpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Zscaler.
  • Support pre-sales efforts by validating solution design and providing technical assurance during planning phases.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies, enhancing service offerings, and contributing to team development.
  • Mentor consultants and contribute to building internal capability and delivery excellence.
What you’ll bring:
  • 7+ years of experience in cyber security, professional services, or technology consulting with strong security integration and engineering expertise.
  • Deep technical knowledge across cloud, endpoint protection, networks, firewalls, SD-WAN, NAC, WAF, VPN/remote access, and unified communications.
  • Hands-on experience and certifications with key technologies such as Splunk, Microsoft Defender suite, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Zscaler.
  • Solid understanding of cyber security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, NZ ISM, PCI DSS), with an ability to align technical solutions to business risk.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and guide senior decision-makers.
  • Customer-obsessed and a self-starter, you go above and beyond to deliver exceptional outcomes and experiences.
  • Professional and ethical, you inspire trust and confidence through integrity, empathy, and respect.
This is a hybrid role, Wellington-based, may consider Christchurch, working with thought leaders in a dynamic, independent environment, where you’re given flexibility and there are real opportunities for career growth. Ideally, I'm seeking a Principal-level consultant but will consider a highly experienced Senior-level consultant.

Salary $170-210k plus benefits
