About The position
We are looking for 1 experienced cook for our busy Mediterranean restaurant in Matamata.
You will be expected to work 5 days per week and will be on rotating roaster.
You will need to work a minimum of 35 hours per week.
Availability to work on weekends , early morning, evenings and public holidays.
Hourly rate minimum $28 maximum: 30
From time-to-time, you may be asked to do overtime.
The Position
This varied role will suit an experienced cook with an eye for detail and an ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Job Resposibilities- Prepare, cook, and serve quality food to customers
- Assist in meal planning
- Follow instructions and make meals per restaurant recipe
- Place food on plates in a presentable manner
- Ensure customer's dietary requirements are met
- Order supplies and oversee stock management
- Comply with New Zealand Food Safety Standards
- Ability to manage and lead a kitchen team
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace
- Train new kitchen staff if required
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Knowledge of Mediterranean cusine is a pluspoint
- Food Hygiene training is preferred.
- Understanding of food allergens.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food storage
- Knowledge of sanitation management
- Understanding of health and safety procedures
The Ideal candidate will need excellent verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, be a team player, be reliable and punctual.
