Communications Advisor
We are looking for a creative, people-focused and detail-oriented Communications Advisorto join our busy, small team in Ōtautahi-Christchurch. This role is key to delivering engaging internal and external communications, supporting marketing activity and brand consistency, and growing our community housing, maintenance and construction mahi across Aotearoa.
The ideal candidate will be tertiary-qualified with at least 4 years of communications or marketing industry experience, with 1-2 years working in an advisor level role. You will be confident engaging with senior leaders and diverse kaimahi-staff, able to give sound, strategically aligned advice on internal and external communications and marketing approaches, plus be proactive with independent recommendations and ideas.
You’ll be calm under pressure, highly adaptable and thrive in a collaborative environment where storytelling, strategic thinking, and visual creativity come together to support our purpose of Enhancing People’s Environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide strategically aligned communications and brand advice to internal teams and leaders.
- Develop and deliver internal communications campaigns across digital and print platforms, including supporting change communications.
- Lead delivery of fortnightly staff communications rhythms including email newsletters, Microsoft Teams and intranet updates.
- Develop and distribute external communications content including website copy, customer and partner email updates, media releases, case studies, and social media content.
- Support production of business development and tendering/sales pitch content.
- Support and promote People and Culture, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, and Trade Services-led engagement initiatives and events
- Maintain and update branded design templates, including delivering basic design tasks such as business cards, social media graphics, or updated flyers and posters.
Ko wai koe | About you:
- 2+ years advisory experience in communications, marketing, and/or brand-related roles.
- A tertiary-level qualification in communications, marketing, journalism or similar.
- Up to date with communications and marketing trends, and best practice.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to align content with overarching business unit strategies and communications/marketing themes and goals.
- Skilled in social media and digital content marketing management, including using email marketing and website content management systems.
- Design skills for internal digital and print collateral, and to support external marketing collateral using Adobe Creative.
- An existing understanding of te reo and tikanga is an advantage.
- Basic photography and/or videography skills would add to your application.
