Customer Service Representative

Due to an internal promotion, we have a vacancy for an all-rounder to join our small team based in Hamilton. We are looking for a hard-working team member who takes a common-sense approach. Our ideal team member will be committed to great customer service, have a keen interest in the agricultural sector and be looking to build a career in this exciting industry.
You'll be great at administration and won't be afraid of heavy lifting or driving on farm completing deliveries; and you will be competent at towing and reversing trailers.

This is a full-time role based in the Hamilton Rural Supplies store working Monday to Friday, and rostered Saturday mornings.
About the role
Based in-store, you will provide knowledgeable sales advice and service to a range of both agricultural and horticultural clients. You'll be heavily involved in the day-to-day manual operation of the store such as assisting with stock management and displays, sales processing and deliveries.You'll have a keen interest and passion for the local agriculture industry, and your excellent communication skills will set you apart.
What you'll get up to day to day:
- Provide sound advice to a variety of customers based on their needs
- Pro-actively solve queries and problems from customers, suppliers and other staff
- Process sales and product requests
- Order, unpack and display merchandise
- Undertake forklift, ute and trailer driving and delivery duties (training provided).
What you'll bring to the team:
- A full, current, and clean NZ driver's license, with the ability to operate a manual vehicle, and reverse trailers. F endorsement will be an advantage however training can be provided
- Good physical fitness as you will be on your feet for the majority of the day and be required to complete many manual handling tasks throughout the day, you will also be required to regularly lift up to 20kg
- Great communication and willingness to be an outstanding team player
- Strong computer literacy skills that enable you to promptly switch on to our systems
- Rural sector knowledge and experiences
- Previous retail and/or sales experience is an advantage but not essential
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook is preferred.
