This role is full-time, Monday to Friday, and will require working on rostered Saturday mornings and is based in the Darfield Rural Supplies store.

About the role

This is an great opportunity for an Assistant Store Manager to help with the efficient and profitable operation of our Darfield store, in line with company strategy and values. With a commitment to meeting client needs, our focus is on providing expert technical sales advice and service to a range of agricultural clients.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Drive sales growth through superior technical advice and in-store service
  • Ensure service expectations are exceeded and any client queries or concerns are addressed as soon as possible
  • Assist the Store Manager with administration tasks as directed
  • Autonomously manage the Store, acting as the first point of contact for clients and employees in the absence of the Store Manager.

Skills and experience include the following:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to both staff and clients
  • Proven sales ability and supervisory experience with knowledge of the local rural sector
  • Developed and demonstrable understanding of current dairy, arable, sheep and beef farming practices
  • Proven computer administration, retail operations, and inventory management skills
  • Outstanding organisation and team building skills
  • Enjoy working in a competitive environment and growing market share
