South Island Sales Representative - LED Lighting - Christchurch

We are looking for a candidate who can represent the company by calling on Electrical Wholesalers and Electrical Contractors and any other duties that are required to do the job & achieve maximum sales & profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory by effectively selling the company’s products and related services.
Key Requirements, Duties and Responsibilities:- Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business.
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
- Focused sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of customer orders.
- Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Plan and organize personal sales strategy with the Sales Manager to maximize the return on time Investment for the territory.
- Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Keep up to date with product applications, technical information, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends.
- Preferable industry experience in the electrical wholesale sector.
- Demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.
- Must be results-orientated with short- and long-term objectives and able to work independently.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Valid driver’s license. (Requirement to pass a Criminal and Traffic Convictions (Security) Check performed by the Ministry of Justice (where applicable)
- Proven sales history.
- Customer Service, Meeting Sales Goals, Closing Skills, Prospecting Skills, Negotiation, Self- Confidence, Product Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Client Relationships, Motivation for Sales.
The South Island territory will be covered in conjunction with our other representatives. Regular call cycles of all our valued customers will be required.
RENUMERATION- Competitive Base salary paid fortnightly and a commission structure is in place paid monthly on achieving budgeted sales
- Company car, company phone and laptop will be supplied.
- Hours: 8am -5pm, 5 days a week Monday – Friday with 30 minutes for lunch. Additional hours outside of this may be required for morning barbeques/and travel related activities.
