Chip-liner Operator
Kelso Kontracting is looking for an all-round super star to join our team
About the RoleYou will operator our wood chipper, load trucks and deliver chip out of the forest to Washdyke
you will need to have a mechanical or engineering background to be able to either diagnose maintained and do repairs when required.
We are seeking a capable all-rounder who can: Operate a wood chipper safely and efficiently
Work confidently with heavy machinery in a contracting environmentThink on their feet and problem-solve on the job
Work independently and manage their time effectively
Being a self-starter is essential, as you will often be working unsupervised while maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.- Skills & Experience Required
Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment
Self-motivated, reliable, and practical
Able to work unsupervised and make sound decisions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Class 5 truck licence is essential

Kelso Kontracting is a well-established, family-run contracting business based in Tapanui, Otago. We specialize in a wide range of services including forestry work, tree felling, wood chipping, and mulching, as well as servicing the agricultural sector with lane Stabilisation, silage, excavation, and land redevelopment.
Our civil work includes road Stabilising, bridge and culvert installation, rock crushing, and emergency works for local councils. We pride ourselves on delivering reliable, high-quality work and safely transporting large machinery to sites.
