- centred care, and excellence.About theRoleWe arelooking for an energetic and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our kapa(team).HealthcareAssistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting theclinical team by preparing equipment in the reprocessing area.As a Healthcare Assistant you willassist nursing staff with patient cares whilst maintaining a safe and cleanwork environment on the unit.You will beresponsible for:Cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes in the reprocessing area (training provided).Assist with the care of patients in the recovery areas
- pre and post procedureStock managementShifts are 8 hours, Monday to Fridaystarting between 7:30am
- 9:30am.Once you are fully trained on-call after hours are Saturday 8am to Sunday 8pm,every 4

We prideourselves in being innovative, forward thinking and up to date with technologyand change.The unitundertakes 12,000+ diagnostic and interventional endoscopy procedures per yearand provides other gastrointestinal services to the Canterbury population.About youWeare looking for someone who is technically minded with some knowledge of infectioncontrol processes and has the ability to learn quickly and works effectivelywithin a multi-disciplinary team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage wellAbility to learn and operate technical equipmentEffective problem solving and decision-making skillsAbility to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary teamExperience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar is desirableAn understanding of infection control processes or previous infection control and/or sterile services knowledge experience is desirableWorkingfor Health New ZealandHealth NewZealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for thepeople of New Zealand.
