The Phlebotomist contributes to the efficient operation of the laboratory and upholds the values and policies of the healthcare organisation.As part of a restructure of phlebotomy services at Taranaki Base Hospital to support the New East Wing Building (NEWB) development, the Health New Zealand Taranaki Laboratory has several Phlebotomist opportunities available.We currently have several varied part-time Phlebotomy Roles available starting from February 2026 By registering here you can outline the areas you are interested in and the hours you are available to work.Please click here to view the job descriptionAbout the Team/Service/ LocationYou will become part of a phlebotomy team that provides both inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy services to Taranaki Base Hospital 7 days a week.

Are you able to practise in New Zealand who would embrace an exciting opportunity in a beautiful province with fantastic work life balance?We are looking for someone with: Current registration or eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, in Phlebotomy and excellent time management skills.

Technical Competence Proficient in venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques, with a strong understanding of infection control and safety protocols.

Reliability and Integrity Maintains confidentiality and adheres to ethical standards in all aspects of work. Adaptability Comfortable working in a variety of clinical settings and responding to changing priorities.
