Bowel Screening Programme (BSP) Far North DistrictPermanent part-time position (0.7FTE), working 28 hours per weekHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleAs a Health Promoter, you will aim to achieve equitable screening outcomes for the Northland Bowel Screening Programme through development and implementation of health promotion strategies and activities.This role supports the delivery of the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) through community-based health promotion, outreach and engagement activities.

Working under direction, the Health Promoter contributes to increasing participation in bowel screening, particularly for Māori, Pacific peoples and underserved communities.The role is non-clinical and focuses on delivering assigned activities, supporting equitable access, and providing culturally appropriate education and information.Click here to view the position description.About the Team/Service/LocationFor more information on living and working in Northland, click hereAbout youAs a Health Promoter, you will be comfortable communicating with groups of people, organised and adaptable and have an ability to work autonomously and harmoniously within a team.In addition, you will have:Relevant experience in community or health settingsExperience working in community, health or social servicesExperience engaging with diverse populationsWhilst not essential, the below is desired:Certificate in health promotion, community work or related fieldExperience working with Māori and/or Pacific communitiesKnowledge of health promotion or outreach approachesWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
