- Wages - $25-$30/hour
- Working Hours - Min 30 hrs/week
- Level 4- Trade Certificate or Diploma is required.
- OR 2 years relevant experience is required.
Prepares, seasons and cooks food in a Takeaway/dine in establishment.
Tasks Include:
- examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
- regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- preparing and cooking food
- seasoning food during cooking
- portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- storing food in temperature controlled facilities
- preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- may plan menus and estimate food requirements
- may train other kitchen staff and apprentices
- Prepare indian breads like Roti, Chapatti, naan, etc
- Prepare authentic Indian cuisine and especially good knowledge in Indian dishes such as authentic dum biriyani and mandhi
- Good knowledge in south and north Indian cuisines
