- About the roleHere in the Southern region, we are dedicated to helping you deepen your knowledge and understanding of midwifery.
We wholeheartedly recognise and appreciate the unique diversity you bring to our community.We offer a comprehensive 12-month programme, 32 hours (0.8FTE) per week with the flexibility of 0.6 FTE being considered.As a new graduate in your Midwifery First Year of Practice, you will gain experience across a range of options (but not exhaustive) the following:Secondary and tertiary hospital environments
- rotations through the antenatal, labour and birthing suite, and postnatal wardsPrimary maternity unit and hubs located in urban, semi- urban, rural and remote settingsExperience working in a caseload team alongside our maternity settingsBe part of an integrated system where primary, secondary and tertiary services network and provide a safe childbearing journeyOpportunity to tailor a career across different work environmentsOur Director of Midwifery, Midwife Managers, Educators, Clinical Coaches and midwives will support you through your journey in caring for our whānau.
