Key Responsibilities for Nelson Construction Apprentices- Support skilled tradespeople and supervisors with a wide range of construction tasks across civil projects in * Nelson and the surrounding region.
- Assist in site preparation, material handling, trenching, pipelaying, backfilling, and general clean-up duties.
- Operate basic construction tools and equipment as trained, assessed, and instructed.
- Follow strict health, safety, and environmental protocols to ensure workplace safety for yourself and your team.
- Accurately record and report site activities and any on-the-job challenges or incidents.
- A positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow in the civil construction field.
- No prior construction experience required—just reliability, enthusiasm, and a readiness for hands-on work.
- Physically fit to handle manual labour and capable of working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Dependable and punctual, committed to upholding high safety standards at all times.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities when collaborating with team members from diverse backgrounds.
- Full eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
