About the role
Phoenix Recycling is a well-established scrap metal and recycling business. We’re looking for an experienced Class 5 Self-loader Truck Driver to join our friendly, hardworking team.
This is a hands-on, stable role with variety — driving, operating a Hiab, and supporting yard operations. You’ll be home daily (no long-haul).
Key responsibilities- Drive Class 5 trucks transporting scrap metal
- Operate a Hiab crane safely and confidently
- Load and unload materials at customer sites and yard
- Complete delivery paperwork and daily vehicle checks
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety standards
- Assist in the yard when required
- Valid NZ Class 5 driver’s licence
- Must have road-ranger gearbox and Hiab/ Palfinger experience - no exceptions
- Physically fit (regular lifting up to 20kg)
- Strong health & safety awareness
- Eroad experience is an advantage
- Able to pass pre-employment drug & criminal checks
- Must have current working rights in New Zealand
This role is required to provide cover during periods of staff leave.
