Materials Manager

Giltrap Ag is a family owned business with a long history of innovation in the design and manufacturing of high quality agricultural machinery sold both domestically and internationally under the Giltrap and Duncan brands. An opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced Materials Manager to join our team in Timaru to lead our ongoing focus on best practice in inventory purchasing, management and control.

• Have experience in a purchasing/inventory control role preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Have proven experience in negotiating with & managing key supplier relationships
• Be experienced in dealing with overseas suppliers & managing international freight logistics
• Demonstrate an ability to work closely with the production team to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials for production
• Be leading a small inventory logistics team
• Have a high level of Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills. Previous experience in using manufacturing / production (ERP) systems would be an advantage
• Continuously develop and refine process improvement initiatives

• Good organisational and communication skills
• An ability to multi task & prioritise work requirements to meet agreed deadlines
• Adaptable and self motivated with an ability to think on your feet
• Tidy and accurate in your work with good numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to build good work relationships with suppliers, customers and work colleagues.
