The Role

As an Event & Operations Manager, you will join a well-established Operations and Logistics team. You will assist in the seamless delivery of all catered events from planning through to execution. You will manage the planning and packing of events, on-site operations, coordinate teams, maintain compliance, and ensure our service consistently exceeds expectations.

This is a hands-on role requiring initiative, attention to detail, and a client-focused mindset. There are leadership, responsibility and accountability functions within this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all catered events and venues
  • Manage staff briefings, guest liaison, service delivery, and post-event reporting
  • Act as a key point of contact between clients, the Sales & Events team, and kitchen operations
  • Lead recruitment, training, and performance management of the casual events team
  • Ensure venue readiness, equipment maintenance, and compliance with licensing and safety standards
  • Champion GC’s brand values in every client interaction and staff engagement
  • Uphold and implement all Health & Safety, HACCP, and food hygiene policies
What You Bring
  • A full clean NZ driver’s license
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in high-volume hospitality, venue or event operations management
  • Current Manager’s Certificate, LCQ and ServeWise training
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Excellent communication, client service, and conflict resolution abilities
