  • An experienced principal
-level professional to lead the Electricity Authority's affordability work programme and an experienced senior to lead work delivering a high-functioning regulatory environment for retailers and consumers.

About the roleYou will join the Retail and Consumer Policy team, within the recently formed Retail and Consumer group.
We are responsible for driving consumer outcomes in the electricity system to meet the Authority's statutory objectives and functions.We are driving for an energy future where kiwis have confidence and choice, on their terms.
Our goals for consumers include affordability access, flexible choices, and trusted advice.
By keeping the consumer at the heart of our work, we ensure that the electricity industry is doing the same.What we're looking for?

As someone with deep retail electricity experience or seasoned policy experience, you are someone who can create innovative, compelling, and consumer-focused policy solutions to ensure our electricity sector serves the best interests of consumers and Aotearoa.As the principal leading the affordability work programme, you'll bring a deep understanding of the retail electricity market and a governance background.

You can use your strategic acumen to comfortably engage the wider industry and provide clear, actionable advice to senior leaders and the Authority's Board.

You would lead work by delivering authoritative, innovative, and durable regulatory and non-regulatory solutions that sees the electricity sector become more affordable for consumers.As senior, you're someone with compelling experience working in the retail electricity sector, or a seasoned electricity professional, who can see how the regulatory environment needs to change to keep pace with consumer needs and demands.

You will have a track record of creating innovative, consumer-focused solutions to ensure our electricity sector serves the best interests of consumers and Aotearoa.

You will lead regulatory change to enable innovations in how consumers generate and use electricity (for example, multiple trading relationships).You'll thrive in these roles if you have the following: A can-do attitude with a high level of initiative.
