We’re looking for friendly and motivated Catering Assistants to support daily food service delivery at **Tupuarangi Hall in University of Canterbury**. You’ll help prepare and present meals, provide warm and professional customer service, and ensure all dining and kitchen areas meet Compass Group’s high standards of safety, hygiene, and presentation.

• Assist with food preparation, portioning and plating, ensuring adherence to the site food safety plan.
• Provide warm, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and support the dining experience.
• Maintain clean and tidy dining, kitchen and public areas—including cleaning tables, equipment, and handling waste.
• Receive and rotate stock, replenish supplies, and follow routine instructions and communication processes.
• Work effectively as part of a team, follow company procedures, and carry out additional duties such as dishwashing.

• A team player who can also work independently, with strong communication and a positive attitude.
• Physically fit, reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining high presentation and hygiene standards.
• Experience in a similar role (preferred) and comfortable working in busy food service environments.
• Flexible, proactive, and eager to learn through on-the-job training and development.
• Able to obtain Police Clearance and follow all Compass Group policies and procedures.
