An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team!
About the role
This busy role is jointly responsible for maintaining our fleet of trucks and trailers in our onsite Morrinsville workshop, and would suit a qualified diesel mechanic with proven experience.
Days are Monday - Friday with occasional weekends when required, 45 hours per week, and there is also a shared weekly on-call roster. You will be a part of a team that carries out all routine maintenance, services and evaluates equipment for up and coming repairs, to ensure our equipment is fit for purpose.Some forklift and tyre work will also be required.
About You
The candidate we are looking for must be prepared to go above and beyond, be a team player and have a positive can-do attitude. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic is a must.
As the successful applicant you will:- Be a qualified heavy diesel mechanic
- Have a heavy vehicle background, or an enthusiasm and willingness to learn
- Have a Class 5 licence (preferred but not essential)
- Have strong interpersonal skills
- Be proactive versus reactive
- Be flexible with your time to participate in an on-call roster
- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have the ability to remain composed while handling high pressure situations
- Have excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and multitask
