Apex Engineering Ltd is an Oamaru based General Engineering company providing a wide range of services including machine shop, structural, factory servicing, sheet metal services and a retail shop.

In the Role of Quantity Surveyor/Estimator, you will be responsible for accurate cost estimation, pricing, and financial management of our engineering projects. You will play a key role in quoting and cost control, ensuring that our projects remain financially viable and competitive.

Key Responsibilities; * Prepare detailed estimates and pricing for engineering projects

Assess project specifications to develop accurate costings
Conduct site visits and assessments to determine project requirements
Ordering materials and equipment
Organising subcontractors
Working closely with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
Track project costs, variations, and budgets

We’re Looking For; * Experience in quantity surveying, estimating, or pricing

Strong knowledge of NZ building codes, construction methodologies, and contract management
Proven ability to analyse costs, assess risks, and provide accurate pricing
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong communication skills
