Cook - Nelson

We are Kimchi & Wasabi, Nelson's first Pick Your Own sushi place. Our restaurant is one of the most loved Sushi

restaurants in New Zealand. We serve the variety of Sushi, Donburi, and Japanese noodles.

Guaranteed hour: 30-40 Hours per week between Tuesday- Sunday 8:00am-7:00pm.

Job position: Cook

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items.
• Preparing high-quality meals and food items according to company recipes.
• Storing excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage.
• Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards.
• Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.
• Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use.
• Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.
• Assisting other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.
• Efficiently resolving problems with customers’ orders.
• Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.

Requirements:

• At least 2 year of work experience working as a cook or chef in commercial kitchen
• Experienced in cutting sashimi and rolling sushi is ideal
• Team player
• Have a positive, can-do attitude
• Desirable work ethic (e.g. punctual, honest)
• The ability to stand for extended periods of time
