Factory Team Member / Dispatcher
FREEMAN ROOFING WELLINGTON IS LOOKING FOR A FACTORY TEAM MEMBER / DISPATCHER TO JOIN THE TEAM.

The Role
The role will see you split your time as directed by the branch manager between dispatching/delivering products to customers across the Wellington region and supporting the factory by operating some of the factory machines.
When completing deliveries, you will drive a ute and/or trailer, depending on the job requirements and therefore, must be comfortable reversing with a trailer. You will also support our goal to minimise environmental impacts by assisting with journey planning for all deliveries ensuring deliveries are optimally loaded and routes allow for products to be delivered along the way.
When at the branch, your responsibilities will be a mix of dispatch duties including preparing and loading customer orders, receiving stock and materials and supporting the factory in manufacturing products, using a mixture of steel roll forming machines including ridge, gutter, long run roll formers, our new state-of-the art folder and slitter.
Experience and certification to use forklifts and gantry cranes will be an advantage however training will be provided if necessary.
In both the capacities, you will be an ambassador for the company and will professionally operate in a customer focus way.
What you will bring:- A clean full New Zealand driver licence with an ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Experience operating gantry cranes and/or the certificates to do so
- Certification and experience using forklifts
- Previous machine handling experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with the local region is preferred
- Work in a health and safety focussed way
- Be reliable and willing to learn
- Have an eye for detail
- Prepared to work full-time on a permanent basis
- Be physically fit to assist with lifting and moving products
- Be flexible and able to adapt to changes of plans on the fly
- Utilise your previous work and life experiences to navigate and support the team in achieving the best for our customers
- Be a great communicator as a liaison between the customers and both our administration and factory teams
- Be experienced in planning delivery trips to be fuel efficient to support our goals to minimise environmental impacts
- Knowledge and experience driving manual vehicles will be beneficial.
- Safely deliver products to customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Using a forklift and gantry cranes to load and unload products and materials
- Operating our machinery to make made-to-order products
- Ensuring manufactured goods meet a high standard
You will work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday with over time available periodically when needed. To help with work/life balance, we usually close for two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period.
