About the Role

We are looking for empathetic, responsible, and safety-focused individual to join our team as Aged or Disabled Carer (Assisting Aged or Disable clients to overcome mobility challenges). This role involves transporting elderly and disabled clients, assisting them with mobility, and providing friendly support to ensure their wellbeing.

The job requires a minimum New Zealand qualification in Health sector (Level 4 or higher) or at least three years of relevant experience. Minimum Guaranteed working hours would be 32 hours per week.

You will be a vital part of the community — not just driving but caring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely transport clients to medical appointments, social outings to dementia clients, elderly clients and clients with mobility challenges
  • Provide companionship and care during their journey from one place to another
  • Assist clients with entering and exiting vehicles including wheelchair support
  • Build positive relationships through friendly and respectful interaction
  • Record trip details and report any client concerns
  • Comply with all health, safety, and privacy procedures
  • Physically capable of assisting clients with limited mobility
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience working with elderly, disabled, or medically vulnerable clients
  • Knowledge of NZ health and safety standards and community care
  • Deliver culturally appropriate, compassionate support and care to individuals as they access and navigate complex health and disability services.
Other Requirements
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
  • P Endorsement (Passenger Endorsement – required before starting)
  • Total Mobility Limited Credit Programme (LCP) Certificate
  • At least 1 year of driving experience in New Zealand
  • Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required
  • First Aid Certificate
