The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is a world-class maker of music, and it proudly shares it's music with audiences in New Zealand and across the World. As the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, you will take on the mantle of expertly delivering financial and governance best practice and ensure the NZSO continues to be a leading provider in the NZ arts scene.
In this unique opportunity, you will take a leadership role across finance, business services, government relations, compliance and technology, you will provide inspiration and direction to your team and deliver exceptional customer service to the business, having that knack of making complex scenarios understandable.
You will couple this with outstanding relationship skills especially when building connections with external agencies and providers.
Essential attributes and qualifications to be considered for this role are:
- CA membership of CAANZ or similar
- Knowledge and experience in government processes and accountability
- Exceptional relationship building skills
- An expert in accounting/finance and financial analysis including at a strategic level
- An adaptable and fast paced approach to work
- Strong written skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Experience working with Boards and subcommittees
This is a broad and stimulating role with Finance and a comprehensive understanding of the machinery of government at its core. You will provide advice to the CEO and Board around financial management, planning and analysis, as well as governance and performance reporting.
You will have well-honed process improvement skills and be able to operationalise business strategy to ensure positive commercial and creative outcomes.
