HVAC ENGINEERS: FIFO Pacific Islands

Tradestaff Global is seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified and experienced HVAC ENGINEERS / AIR CON TECHS for upcoming commercial construction projects across remote Pacific Island locations.
Opportunities may come up at short notice or be planned well in advance, so we’re building a strong talent pool of reliable, experienced tradespeople ready to go when projects kick off.
THE ROLE:
This is a varied HVAC role on remote island construction projects. Work will include a mix of:
- Installation of commercial air conditioning systems.
- Ducting installation, plant setup & system commissioning.
- Fit-off of HVAC systems across new build projects.
- Maintenance & servicing of existing systems.
- Fault finding, diagnostics & repairs.
- Working within multi-trade teams in remote, logistically challenging environments.
You’ll need to be comfortable working across different tasks and adapting to changing site requirements.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
These are FIFO-style deployments where you will work intensively on site during your rotation, followed by extended time back home.
While final schedules are yet to be confirmed, indicative rotation options may include:
- 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off.
- 4 weeks on / 1 week off.
- 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off.
Work weeks are expected to be full-time onsite with longer days typical of remote project delivery (up to approx. 80 hours per week depending on project requirements).

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We want experienced people who are comfortable working in remote & challenging environments.
You will need to have:
- A relevant HVAC / Air Conditioning qualification / licence.
- Proven commercial HVAC experience (essential).
- Strong installation & maintenance background.
- Ability to work in remote, high-output project environments.
- Solid work ethic, reliability & team mindset.
- Good fitness levels for hot & humid work environments.
- Ability to pass pre-employment checks (medical, drug & alcohol & police checks).
- Full Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence
- Return flights from NZ major airports.
- Accommodation & meals supplied on site.
- Travel insurance & logistics support.
- PPE provided where required.
- Opportunity to gain international project experience.

- Candidates must have a NZ Passport, be currently & permanently based in NZ.
