Take the next step in your culinary career with Cater Plus at the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre.We are looking for an experienced and reliable Cook to join our team at MRRC, supporting the preparation and delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals for residents in a culturally diverse environment. This is a rewarding role where your skills will directly support wellbeing and community.
This position is rostered four days per week, including one weekend day, with shifts running from 10:00am to 7:00pm.
About the role
We are seeking a Cook with bulk cooking experience who can confidently work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys being part of a team and understands the importance of meeting a wide range of dietary requirements.
Key responsibilities include:- Preparing and cooking bulk meals to a high standard
- Ensuring food quality throughout preparation and service
- Following menus and accommodating dietary and cultural requirements
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in line with NZ regulations
- Working collaboratively as part of a kitchen team
- Some lifting may be required (up to 20kg)
About you
You will ideally have:- Proven experience in bulk or commercial cooking
- The ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- A strong team-focused attitude
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and food safety practices
- Physical capability to meet the demands of the role
