We are excited to announce an opening for a Kitchen Manager / Chef at our facility located in Dunedin at our Hillside Road location, cooking for 100 onsite residents and cooking for 8 other off-site food service contracts. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional who is ready to take on a leadership role in a dynamic environment.

Moreover, we are committed to supporting our staff with hands-on management and ongoing training.

We are looking for a candidate who possesses a range of culinary skills gained from experience in various kitchen environments. You should have familiarity with different food styles and dietary needs, alongside some management experience. A proven track record of hard work, reliability, and a professional attitude is essential.

• Hours of work: Daytime hours only. Typically, from around 8.30 to approximately 5.30 and days off are set, but always at least one day off in the weekends for example, Sunday and Monday off or Friday and Saturday off

• Management Support: You will receive support with the management of the contract, as well as assistance with other managerial tasks that extend outside the kitchen, allowing you to focus on what you do best.

• Kitchen Work : You will be responsible for the main supervision of the staff in the Kitchen preparing and delivery food ensuring that they meet our high standards in terms of taste and presentation. This role requires good Management, understanding of good cooking skills, and adhering to menus and recipes with dietary requirements and preferences of our clients. You only have to Plate the Lunch and dinner meals to the onsite residents and make any desserts for the next day The rest of your time is for Office tasks
• Office Duties: There is time each day after your Kitchen tasks , allowing you to focus on essential duties outside of the kitchen. This includes rosters, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with our health and safety policies.
• Team Management: Leading a small team of staff, you will be responsible for delegating tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a positive work environment. Strong leadership skills are essential for motivating and inspiring your team.
• Rostering and Payroll Approval: You will oversee staff rosters and payroll approval, ensuring that the kitchen is adequately staffed.
• Food Ordering: Taking charge of ordering supplies and maintaining inventory levels within our streamlined systems is crucial.
• Food Control Plan Record Keeping: Utilise the Cibus App to maintain accurate records for our food control plan. This includes tracking inventory, portion sizes, and compliance with health standards.
