Purpose:- To assist in maintaining the safety and security of the school
- To carry out minor maintenance
- Work as part of a team to maintain a professional image for the school by providing services in upkeep of the grounds, maintenance and cleaning of the premises
- To contribute to the smooth running and general efficiency of the school so that learning and teaching environments are enhanced.
- To help maintain a positive image of the school in the community and act as a positive role model for students.
This position is part of a small team (Site Team) and as such is required to contribute to the smooth running and general efficiency of school operations. The successful candidate is to assist in maintaining the environment and services in the best possible order to enhance student outcomes and support the vision of the school.

Maintenance may include: (a) Assisting in maintaining and repairing furniture, furnishings, fixtures, fittings and equipment
(b) Assist with the cleaning and tidying of all building exteriors and covered walkways, including the removal of graffiti etc.(c) Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the school
(d) Undertake repair jobs and general maintenance that the regulations allow
(e) Cyclical Maintenance. In conjunction with the Caretaker, assist in the interior and exterior of school painting where outside contractors are not required(f) As directed by the Caretaker, troubleshoot issues identified by staff (through our management system) around the campus as efficiently and quickly as possible
(g) Assist with seasonal maintenance, such as clearing spouting of leaves, clearing sumps etc.
(h) Establishing a system of regular maintenance checks as directed by the Caretaker
2 SecurityAssist the caretaker with opening and lock-up of the school as required
3 General Duties and Cleaning(a) Assist in the day-to-day running of the school as directed by the Caretaker
(b) Furniture moving (including staging) as required
(c) Attend to emergency jobs such as spills or damage as directed by the Caretaker
(d) Removal of graffiti
(e) Conduct litter bin run as required
(f) Assist ground staff with grounds maintenance as required
(g) Cleaning of some areas of the school campus
4 Vehicles(a) Assist in the maintenance of the school’s fleet of vehicles, cleaning and checking warrants etc are up to date
Applicant InformationThis position is covered under the School Caretakers, Cleaners and Canteen Staff Collective Agreement.
The successful applicant will need to undertake Police Vetting.
