Therapy Services Manager
Lead, shape and elevate youth mental health across Aotearoa**
Youthline is seeking an experienced, professionally registered clinical mental health leader to step into a pivotal national leadership role as Therapy Services Manager, responsible for the clinical excellence, growth and future direction of Youthline's Therapy Services.
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of New Zealand's most respected youth mental health services, influencing care delivery across Auckland and nationally while working alongside passionate clinicians, senior leaders and sector partners.

Youthline is Aotearoa's most recognised youth support organisation, delivering 24/7 Helpline services, counselling, mentoring and education programmes nationwide.
**About the role**
As Therapy Services Manager, you will provide clinical, operational and strategic leadership for Youthline's Therapy Services, including counsellors, interns and contractors across multiple sites and contracts (including ACC Sensitive Claims).
You will be accountable for maintaining the highest standards of clinical quality, embedding best practice frameworks such as CAPA (Choice and Partnership Approach), and driving innovation, workforce sustainability and service growth across a complex, fast-moving mental health environment.
You will sit at senior leadership level, partnering closely with the CEO, Executive GM, funders, tertiary institutions and sector partners to ensure Youthline remains a leader in youth mental health delivery .
**Key responsibilities**
This is a broad, influential leadership role, where you will:
- Lead, support and develop Youthline's Therapy Services team, interns and contractors
- Set and uphold standards of clinical excellence, safe practice and evidence-based care
- Embed CAPA across service design, supervision and workload management
- Drive quality improvement, innovation and new service initiatives
- Oversee Therapy Services contracts, including ACC and funded programmes
- Manage recruitment, performance, supervision and retention of clinicians
- Lead stakeholder relationships with funders, tertiary providers and community partners
- Own service reporting, auditing, data, outcomes and budget oversight
- Strengthen systems, handbooks, CRM use and clinical governance processes
**About you**
You are a credible, confident and values-driven clinical leader who enjoys complexity, change and building services that truly work for clients and clinicians alike.
You will bring:
- Full professional registration and current APC (e.g. NZAC, NZAP, DAAPANZ or similar)
- A relevant tertiary qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology or allied health
- Senior leadership experience within mental health or social services
- Strong clinical background, ideally including higher-risk settings
- Proven ability to lead teams through growth, change and quality improvement
- Experience managing budgets, contracts and service performance
- Knowledge of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and bicultural practice
- Experience working with priority populations including Maori, Pasifika, Rainbow, Asian and neurodiverse communities
- A collaborative, strengths-based and inclusive leadership style
