About Us:

Juken New Zealand Ltd (JNL) is an international forest and wood products company operating in local and global timber markets. JNL owns three wood processing plants in the North Island, and forests in the Wairarapa and East Coast regions. We work closely with our parent company in Japan – WoodOne.

The mill situated in the Wairarapa currently works a 7 day / 24 hours operation processing Radiata Pine in to peeled, dried Veneer and a solid wood.

About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced maintenance electrician who is on the lookout for a shift role working within a supportive and close-knit team, within a progressive and growing company.

Working for JNL you will be part of one of the Wairarapa’s largest employers, joining a small & dedicated team.

Your primary role will be to ensure the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

This is a hands on role ensuring processes are followed to maintain equipment, to find the cause of unscheduled stoppages and complete repairs in an efficient timely manner, to support improvement programmes & share your ideas on improvements in a large manufacturing setting.

The 4 on 4 off roster consists of 2x 12hr days (7am-7:30pm), 2x 12hr nights (7pm-7:30am) then 4 days off, and potential for extra hours.

What you can expect from us

Working for us you'll have excellent training opportunities, a Super Scheme with very generous employer contributions, an onsite cafe, plenty of free parking and a great working environment which is extremely health and safety conscious. Among other things we also offer free annual flu vaccinations, Bi-annual medical and Hearing tests, EAP support services and a very active social club.

We are able to offer competitive remuneration and benefits and a career path to future management roles if this is the track you would like to take.

What we need from you

You will be a proven industrial/maintenance electrician. Experience in an industrial environment would be an advantage but is in no way essential, as long as you have an understanding of the nature of the industry and an interest in it.

You will have a well-rounded knowledge in electrical maintenance, with the ability to be able to make decisions autonomously when required. You will be focussed on doing things in the correct manner, in a safe way and enjoy taking ownership and accountability for your work, with a systematic and practical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
