Farm Machinery Operator & Maintenance Role (Balfour) 3304LO

We're looking for an experienced Machinery Operator/Machinery Maintenance person to join our team on an 850 ha dairy farm near Balfour, approximately 10 minutes south of Lumsden. We're seeking someone with 2+ years of experience.

This is a varied, hands-on role perfect for someone who enjoys both machinery work and livestock in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key duties will include:
  • Groundwork, cropping, and harvesting
  • Silage, hay, and baling
  • Mowing, raking, and cultivating
  • Paddock work
  • Maintaining machinery to ensure it’s clean and operational, including performing minor mechanical repairs
  • Keeping accurate records of work completed, fuel usage, and equipment servicing
  • Complying with health and safety regulations
  • Other general farm duties as required
To be considered, you must:
  • Have previous machine operating experience and be able to provide good, related references.
  • Provide a current, correct, and complete CV or alternative evidence of your work.
  • Be a solid worker with good character. A criminal check may be conducted.
  • Be physically fit and not afraid of hard work.
  • Be a confident and safe tractor operator.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Have a full driver's license.
Working Conditions
  • Weekly hours are a minimum of 40, with a maximum of 65 hours per week during concentrated work periods, depending on the weather.
  • The roster is 12 days on, 2 days off.
Wage Range
  • $35.00 - $40.00 per hour, subject to experience.
