EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC
STAR SERVICE CENTRE is a privately owned business based in Gisborne as a Mechanical/Auto Electrical workshop trading alongside our vehicle breakdown and recovery business which operates 24hrs /7days and supports the Gisborne community providing AA roadside assistance.
We are currently seeking to employ an additional technician to join our existing team of technicians able to work on all makes and models of Cars, Vans, Utes and small trucks.
This position is Permanent and Full time (40 hour week Monday to Friday) PLUS on call breakdown callouts on a rostered basis offering extra remuneration.
The ideal applicant would need to bring the following attributes to the position:-- Have a good sense of humor and a happy disposition with clean and tidy appearance.
- Preference will be given to a Qualified Automotive mechanic BUT we will also consider a person with a minimum of 3 years experience having worked in a workshop environment attending to repairs and servicing and able to competently detect and diagnose faults.
- Having a WOF Certificate is an advantage but not essential.
- Must perform with confidence and care with attention to detail, exhibit good time management and organisational skills.
- Have a high level of motivation and be able to show initiative along with being reliable, trustworthy and committed to performing well.
- Must be able to work well in a team but equally have the ability to work unsupervised and accept instruction from management.
- Having excellent communication skills and conversing in clear well spoken English is essential along with excellent customer service skills.
- Must be a confident user of a computer.
- Must be available for on call after hour breakdown service on a rostered basis providing extra remuneration on top of weekly wage. Remuneration will be discussed with applicant upon successful application.
- A current NZ FULL drivers license is essential along with a necessity for any person applying to already have NZ residency and/or a valid work Visa.
