Painting Trades Worker required all throughout the Marlborough region!
OneStaff is currently seeking experienced Painting Trades Workers. You will need to be reliable and motivated. You might be asked to work across the country to assist with our projects so flexibility on work locations is preferred. The normal duties to be performed comprise all activities related to preparation and application and procedures in laying paint/plaster/epoxy/polyurethane coatings, including but not limited to:
Duties include:- Prepare & operate on-site equipment such as erecting scaffolding & ladders, covering fixtures & other surfaces.
- Prepare walls & others surfaces before painting by scraping, washing, filling holes & cracks, removing old paints, vacuuming & sweeping.
- Sand blasting, water blasting to prepare concrete/metal surfaces for primer/topcoats.
- Read blueprints and instructions to determine the requirements, materials and tools needed.
- Apply sealers & solvents to exterior & interior building surfaces such as plaster, concrete & wood.
- The efficient and effective repair of chips, holes and cracks, ensuring that all chips, holes and cracks are completely sealed
- Prepare & mixing of paints and other additives
- Use paint brushes, rollers & sprays to apply paints, varnishes and other finishers to surfaces.
- Plaster & windows repair as required.
- Keep the workspace, equipment & tools clean.
- Maintain health and safety requirements.
- All other duties as assigned
Hours of work: A minimum of 30 hours of work is guaranteed.
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum of 2.5 years of relevant painting experience or relevant painting qualification
- Friendly, with good time management, and excellent work ethic are essential
- Flexibility to work in various locations across the country
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry
- Commitment to health and safety practices on-site
- Reliable and hardworking
Location: You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland.
This is a permanent and full-time role. Applicants must be a NZ Citizen/Resident or should have a valid NZ work visa.
