Are you a hands-on Databricks practitioner ready to take the next step in your consulting career? We're looking for an Intermediate Data Consultant to join our clients growing team, working alongside highly experienced, Data Science and Data Platform experts.

This role offers a rare opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive consulting environment, delivering real impact on a nationally significant data programme.

About the role:

As an Intermediate Data Consultant, you'll bring a consulting mindset, technical expertise, and a passion for delivering customer-centric solutions. You'll play a key role in translating business requirements into high-quality data solutions, while gaining mentorship and on-the-job learning from senior Databricks specialists.

This role suits someone who enjoys working closely with clients, thrives in an Agile delivery environment, and is keen to grow their expertise across modern data platforms and tools.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven hands-on Databricks experience (essential)
  • Strong experience delivering customer-centric business or strategic consulting services, ideally within the data and AI domain
  • Experience in data platforms, data modelling, and ELT/ETL programming, including:
  • Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, Snowflake
  • Databases: Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server
  • Tools: Azure Data Factory, Python, CI/CD, dbt, Power BI, Tableau
  • Experience capturing business requirements and turning them into scalable, practical data solutions
  • Confidence in how data and AI methodologies, tools, and technologies can drive value for organisations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to engage and influence at all levels
  • Professional, organised, and a great team player who knows how to have fun while working hard
  • Previous experience in consulting or professional services in a customer-facing role
  • Agile delivery experience highly desirable

Role Details:

  • 4 days per week on-site (Wellington office or nearby client site)
