Assistant Manager – Pizza Hut Matamata

Location: Matamata, Waikato
Position Type: Permanent Full-Time 30 to 40 Hours per week

Pay Rate: $30 to $34 per hour

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our Pizza Hut Matamata store.

Position Overview:

As an Assistant Manager, you will manage the shift supervisor and team members to lead and manage a high-performing team, ensuring customers receive fast, fresh, and friendly service every time. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone with strong people management skills and a passion for customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage customer service standards and handle customer queries
  • Control daily operations by scheduling roster
  • Ordering food supplies.
  • Developing team members, assist with recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Monitor food safety, hygiene, and store cleanliness
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory
  • Support rostering, budgeting, and cost control
  • Ensure all operations comply with company policy and legal standards
  • Implement corporate and local marketing opportunities.
  • Assisting with recruitment, interviewing and hiring of team members
  • Organise and lead regular team meetings.
What We’re Looking For:
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a hospitality or retail supervisory role
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to motivate and manage staff across a range of shifts
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and health and safety standards in New Zealand.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team, including availability for evening and weekend work as required.
  • Computer Literacy and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Holds a formal qualification equivalent to a New Zealand Level 5 qualification preferably in computer applications, business or any
  • Experience in software such as Oracle MICROS, Bringg, and Hutbot will be advantageous.
  • Ability to manage inventory and budgeting.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards.
