About the Role
Are you ready to take the next step in your quantity surveying career? We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team and contribute to a range of exciting construction projects across the North Island.
The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor supports the financial and contractual management of construction projects. This role involves preparing cost estimates, monitoring budgets, and reviewing project documentation to ensure accurate forecasting of materials, labour, and time.
You’ll work closely with project teams to help control costs and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle. This role demands a deep understanding of construction processes, a sharp business acumen, and the ability to develop and refine project financial processes.
What does this look like?- Prepare accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Administer construction contracts and manage variations, claims, and disputes.
- Identify and manage risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
- Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations for optimisation.
- Analyse market trends and provide commercial insights
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying within the Construction Industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in construction cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
