About the RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Medical Officer to join our team as Consultant Microbiologist.Whether youre already working as a consultant, recently graduated, or due to finish your training in the next 12-18 months, your application will be warmly considered.About the Team/Service/ LocationBased in the Waikato region, our Pathology Service operates across five laboratory sites, providing a broad spectrum of diagnostic testing and specialist referrals for the wider region.Youll be part of a team delivering comprehensive microbiology services, including:Bacteriology and MycologyAntimicrobial Susceptibility TestingMycobacterial Culture and Drug Susceptibility TestingInfectious Disease SerologyMolecular Diagnostics for Viral and Bacterial PathogensThis position is based at Waikato Hospital and offers full time hours with flexibility, including the option for a mix of onsite and remote work.
Some out of hours on call duties are required.We pride ourselves on delivering both high-volume and specialist testing, supported by close collaboration between our microbiology and infectious disease departments.
