Paediatric Fellow - Whakatane Hospital
We are seeking a Paediatric Fellow/Advanced Trainee at Whakatane Hospital, Health New Zealand Bay of Plenty available from December 2026.
About the Role
This position is a 6 - 12 month fixed term post, starting in December 2026. The post, superb for a Senior Paediatric Registrar wanting genuine peripheral and rural training experience accredited by Royal Australasian College of Physicians shares after-hours call, averaging 1:4, with five Consultant Paediatricians.Supervision will be appropriate for the trainee.

Our dynamic team cover acute paediatrics, Level 2 neonates an acute care unit (ACU), four ambulatory clinics, MDT clinics, developmental and community paediatrics with robust linkage to MOE, CAFMHS, Oranga Tamariki, Childrens Team and tertiary services.Many of our communities, especially Maori, have high health needs. Our Fellow will have the will, skills, energy, innovation and adaptability to make a difference.
