Construction worker - Christchurch

Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Construction worker specialising in tiling. Who will be expected to work between 30 to 40 hours per week and be paid between $25 to $35 per hour. The employee shall perform his duties at a location where the employer may direct them mainly in Canterbury.

• preparing construction sites, materials and tools;
• loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools and equipment and transporting them around building sites;
• removing debris, rubbish and dangerous materials from construction sites;
• mixing, pouring and spreading materials such as concrete, plaster and mortar;
• performing general duties, such as cleaning and carrying out minor repairs on construction sites;
• assisting to load, unload and transport heavy machinery and equipment;
• assisting with removing or installing fixtures such as toilets, wash basins and assemble prefabricated furniture and fixtures;
• ensuring workmanship and observe health and safety regulations;
• assisting other contractors as required, e.g scaffolders, painters, tilers, carpenters, etc;
• taking other relevant duties as required by construction supervisor or site manager.

• able to work independently as well as part of a team;
• working well under pressure;
• be physically fit;
• have at least 18 months relevant experience or qualification;
• be able to work well with the existing team;
• reliable, hardworking and well organised;
