Hot Pot Buffet Restaurant – Chef (Full-Time)

Pay Rate: $27–$30 per hour (depending on experience)

We are a popular hot pot buffet restaurants located in Auckland, and we are seeking experienced full-time Chefs to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidates will be reliable, proactive, and able to perform well in a high-volume, fast-paced service environment.

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally with experience in hot pot cuisine, Chinese cuisine, or buffet-style operations
• Able to work evenings, weekends and split shifts as required
• Strong ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene compliance
• Ability to prepare and portion ingredients efficiently to support high customer flow

• Prepare and season hot pot ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, broths, sauces, and buffet items
• Cook and monitor foods to ensure quality, freshness, and consistency
• Manage ingredient preparation, stock rotation, and daily replenishment
• Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen areas in accordance with NZ food safety regulations
• Preserve, store, and freeze food according to the restaurant’s operational needs
• Assist with designing or improving soup bases, dipping sauces, and new menu items suitable for hot pot buffet service
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in food preparation, portioning, and equipment use
• Support team management to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently
