We are looking for energetic and motivated Support Workers to help the people we support in our Te Awamutu Residential Services.

What does a Support Worker do? - He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko?

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills - the list is endless.

Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support, with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

Who are we looking for? - Ko wai ta tatou e rapu ana?
  • People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours
  • Full driver's licence is essential
  • Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others' thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends

Empathy, respect and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
