Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Leading Hands to join our team in key regions, including Auckland, Waikato, Wellington, Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago. This role will include travelling between the regions mentioned, working on a variety of commercial projects, and providing essential carpentry skills on-site.If you have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and are committed to delivering quality, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:- Assisting in selecting and mobilising individuals to work effectively and efficiently as part of carpentry teams.
- Completing the Quality Assurance check sheet to confirm that work is constructed in accordance with the content of the Work Pack.
- Create an inspiring team environment with an open culture in keeping with the vision, values, and purpose.
- Provide immediate feedback to carpenters and apprentices when required to improve performance.
- Provide formal twice-yearly feedback to carpenters and apprentices.
- Plan and carry out, train others in, and oversee preliminary work, including:
Set out for carpentry work.
Plan and carry out, train others in, and oversee the construction of support structures, including: Framed foundations.
Solid foundations.Retaining walls.
Skills and Qualifications:
- You must either have:
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience OR
- Level 4 Qualification
Preferred Candidate must have:
- Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations in New Zealand
- Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
- New Zealand driver’s license preferred but not essential
- Willingness to travel based on project requirements
Terms and Conditions:
- Minimum pay rate of $36; Maximum pay rate of $46, depending on experience
- Minimum of 40 hours per week guaranteed. Maximum 60 hours per week.
