The Christchurch City Council Parks team is growing in a new and exciting direction. We want you to be part of our dedicated team.

You will combine your mowing, spraying and horticultural experience that will deliver a high-quality finish to the parks and cemeteries throughout our city. Working in these spaces you will be exposed to a wide range of people, cultures and beliefs that are represented within Christchurch.An openminded, respectful outlook will be key.
About the role - Ko te mahi nei
What's involved? As a Parks and Gardens Maintenance Officer, you'll be delivering a wide range of maintenance and improvement work to Christchurch City's parks and cemeteries, helping to ensure their ongoing upkeep.
Your duties will include:- mowing using both hand-held and ride-on equipment
- line trimming
- spraying
- weeding
- pruning
- planting
- cleaning BBQs and water fountains
- rubbish collection.
About you - Ko Koe Tenei
Requirements of the role include the following:- You will be a committed team player who is always looking for ways to learn, grow and improve
- You will be ensuring all aspects of our parks such as turf, gardens and all associated furnishings are maintained to the highest standard
- You will have a full New Zealand driver's licence
- Have your Level 4 National Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent, or extensive experience in similar role
- A Grow Safe qualification, class two truck licence and W endorsement would be highly desirable but not essential. CCC will help you gain these qualifications if you do not have them

- Position: Full-time, permanent
- Location: This position can be based at the Pages Road Maintenance Depot or Cable Street Depot
- Salary: The hourly rate for this position goes from $31.49 to $34.99 per hour
