At A J Saville, we pride ourselves on our focused, high-performing team culture and our consistent pipeline of exciting projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a key role in our project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and pre-costing activities.
- Gather information from proposals and specifications to calculate costs for project and service delivery.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Project Manager to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Evaluate financial implications, including materials, labour, and time requirements, to provide detailed project estimates.
- Manage both priced and non-priced components of tenders effectively.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure accurate cost estimates and identify potential cost savings.
- Assess contractor invoices and manage subcontractor agreements and payments.
- Liaise with clients to understand project scopes, attend site visits, and participate in tender meetings.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers to obtain fixed pricing, negotiate contracts, and manage procurement processes.
- Complete payment claims and manage project variations effectively.
- Provide regular project margin reports and monthly project forecasts to senior management.
- Minimum 5+ years of industry experience.
- Proven experience in tendering for high-end construction projects.
- Preferably hold a relevant diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Ability to perform detailed cost analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
- Proficiency in using project management and estimating software (e.g., CostX, Procore, Excel).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
