Leading Hand / Supervisor - Transport Warehouse

We’re seeking a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to lead our clients daily transport operations.

You will be responsible for supervising warehouse staff, coordinating machinery and equipment, and managing key administrative tasks.

Your focus will be on keeping warehouse operations running smoothly, safely and efficiently, therefore you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and support your team on the warehouse floor, and champion improvements that deliver real impact.

Hours of work : 2pm to finish

  • Monday to Friday

The purpose :

  • Responsibility for leading, managing and being part of the team to facilitate day to day warehousing and cross docking (freight handling) operations in accordance with safety, compliance and operational efficiency standards
  • Fulfilling customer service demands within customer service level agreements for storage and inventory management of various product are adhered to
  • Maintaining effective communication with customers, addressing their needs, and building strong relationships.
  • Monitoring freight movements, identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Manage cross dock operations, ensuring that all products cross docked safely, accurately, within required timeframes and without damage. Producing high quality output for all process involved in the cross docking facility.
  • Adhering to all SOPs for the products handled in the cross docking facility.
  • Proactively manage and contribute in aspects of health and safety and noting any accidents and incidences.
  • Ensure due process is followed, all systems updated accurately, and the proper documentation is received and despatched with the drivers.
  • Using personal judgement and highly developed analytical skills to deliver high quality output and decisions.
  • Recruit, retain, lead and develop staff ensuring smooth work flows and cross docking operations
  • Cross training-transport administration , warehouse and data entry.

To be successful, you will need:

  • A current **forklift license**
  • A strong work ethic – reliable, punctual, and team-focused
  • Minimum **3 years’ leadership experience** - ideally with cross docking
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and support your team.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in logistics software applications.
