Refugee and new Migrant Liaison

Te Aratai College is looking to employ a Refugee and new Migrant Liaison permanently for 20 hours per week term time only. This was initially a Ministry of Education pilot aimed at providing Refugee and Migrant support for schools with ethnically and culturally diverse student body.
The role is 20 hours per week, term time only, beginning as soon as possible after the closing date of 23 February. This role is an additional resource to support ethnic and cultural diversity and inclusion in our school and the wider community.
You will provide tangible support to school to develop and implement processes, activities and initiatives that intentionally celebrate ethnic and cultural diversity. The outcome of your support will be:- School is a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for refugee and migrant background students.
- Diversity, bi and multilingualism and cultures are celebrated.
- Student and whanau voice are welcome and encouraged.
- Parent/whanau and community are involved in school activities.
- Development and implementation of diversity policies for the school.
