Maintenance Fitter / Engineer
We are currently recruiting for an Maintenace Fitter / Engineer to assist with our sawmill and processing operations. You would report to the Engineering Team Leader and the primary objectives of the position are:
- Fabrication for new projects
- Breakdown maintenance
- Preventive maintenance
- Working on continuous improvement
The role has a direct impact on our production levels and quality and therefore plays an important part in the overall success of the mill.
Work Hours: The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 5.00am to 2.30pm. It is expected that you will work 45 hours per week.Competitive Pay: Earn between $27.43 – $38 per hour, based on your skills and experience.
Additional Bonuses: Enjoy a weekly production bonus, tool allowance for all hours worked, Time and half for working over 45 hours and a retention bonus (paid on 1st year anniversary) for all hours worked in the first year at $1.00 per hour.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:Ideally you will have:
- At least 1 - 3 years experience working in a mechanical fitting or mechanical maintenance role
- Production experience or heavy industrial experience is highly preferred
- Excellents hands-on fault finding skills
- Trade certificate qualification is preferred but is not essential
You’ll need to be physically fit, self-motivated, able to follow procedures, work autonomously and be reliable.
You will also have a strong focus on ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times. Sound comprehension skills will also be required.
