apartmentJasmax placeWellington calendar_month

Jasmax invites Māori and Pasifika architecture students - currently in their second year of bachelor’s study - to apply for the Te Ara Takitini | Guiding Light Mentoring Programme. Rooted in the values of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and ako, this programme offers real-world insights, hands-on learning, and meaningful design-industry connections.

Successful applicants will be matched with experienced mentors, attend tailored sessions, and gain guidance through the final three years of study. If you're passionate about design, proud of your identity, and ready to grow your architectural career, this is your path forward.

We encourage students to Kia māia (be brave) and just apply.

  • Passionate about architecture and eager to grow personally and professionally
  • Willing to share your story, cultural values, and aspirations in a short-written statement
  • Open to mentorship, connection, and reciprocal learning

Optional but welcome:

As a Guiding Light Student, you'll receive:

  • A warm welcome at our studio, where you and your whānau are invited to connect, share kai, and meet the Jasmax team
  • Quarterly mentoring sessions tailored to support your academic journey, personal growth, and transition into professional practice
