We have a very strong focus on health and safety for you, our team and our customers. You will be handling dangerous goods, so attention to detail and commitment to health and safety is critical.
About the role:
We are hiring an additional person to work from our Tauranga yard, transporting, filling and preparing LPG cylinders on a permanent full-time basis.
On the road you will be driving our modern class 2 truck and responsible for delivering and connecting bottled gas, primarily LPG on residential, commercial and marae sites in the Bay of Plenty and collecting and delivering tested cylinders from our customers through the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and South Auckland.
On the yard you will be responsible for decanting, preparing and filling LPG gas bottles for customers and to prepare them for testing.You will need a class 2 license, ideally with D and F endorsement would be helpful but we can help you get these endorsements.
This role is Monday to Saturday. (We are not yet open on Saturdays but that will come)
This role is 4 days a week, (32 hours) initially with a mix of delivery and yard work.Typically the work week will be between 32-50 hours depending on the season and the amount of leave being covered.
An hourly rate will be negotiated with you at the time of an employment offer being made. The range listed is a guide.
Customer service is part of the job - you might need to answer questions or provide solutions on the yard or during deliveries. We will provide you with plenty of training and support so you can offer our customers accurate information.
About you:
- At least one year Class 2 delivery driving experience with a clean license
- Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety
- Current Dangerous Goods endorsement or be willing to undertake training for one
- Physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy items when handling cylinders
- Flexibility and adaptability with a customer service focus
- LPG filling experience would be nice, but we can train you in this so it is not essential
